Lust List!!!

I haven't done a lust list in a while so I felt it was long overdue. I have been noticing this trend toward the smaller bag and I must say I am on board! I'm tired of rummaging through my large bag to find keys, lipstick, gum etc. It's very frustrating when you feel your bag has swallowed your contents only to cough it up at the last minute when you are on the brink of tearing it to shreds! I love love love the Hermes Constance bag and need it in my life.... sigh someday!!! When I was in grade school I loved Weejun Bass Penny loafers and am glad they are making a comeback. I can't wait to wear them with my red jeans very Michael Jackson circa 1980! I will be leaving on Thursday for holiday with my daughter and boyfriend. I definitely know I will channel Jackie O in Capri, I am obsessed with her head scarves they look tres chic! Well I'm off to the MET to see the Alexander McQueen exhibit Savage Beauty.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Summer Weekend Reading!

When I have a little time to myself I like to devour books, generally I can read a book in a day. This weekend I have decided to read Summer Crossing by Truman Capote. My friend recommended it and from reading the back it sounds pretty interesting especially when the setting takes place in New York! So rather than traipse through the city visiting flea markets I will stay in make a cocktail and enjoy my book!

What's Old is New!!

I purchased this picture frame and holder from Shabby Chic for target eons ago. When the frame holder fell and broke I was very upset and figured I would crazy glue it. Fast forward a year and a half later the frame was still residing under my kitchen sink. Until eureka!!!! I had a great idea to hang the frame holder on the wall. One piece to hold my new blue plate and the other as a decorative accent in my bathroom. Voila! I think the results turned out quite nice.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

I wanted to share a few photos.....actually many photos from my trip to Germany and Big Sur. When I was in Germany I stayed in Berlin which I loved! All the buildings are so cookie cuter cute and very low. Look how pretty the Tommy Hilfiger Building is in Charlotenburg! I also visited my boyfriends hometown I hope I spell this right! In Bamberg it was so beautiful I loved the little streets and the blue and white building looked like a beautiful cake. We also visted this lovely rose garden that had a cute little cafe. I did a bit of shopping for traditional gear but still deciding between the dress or the lederhosen hahahaha! Our next stop was to visit my boyfriends father unfortunately I can't remember where we went but we visited a medieval castle where they were having a festival. A lot of people were dressed up it was like stepping back in time.

We also visited Big Sur this was my daughters first time to California and she loved it we hiked and had an amazing time at the wedding which was beautiful and thank goodness my friend gave out vintage napkins because I was a teary mess!  Lastly we had a wonderful weekend in Montauk where I began my first foray into gardening. Hope you enjoy the photos have a great day!

Happy Haphazard!

Today I was looking for new blogs to add to my blog lust list when I came across Sibella Courts lovely loft in Chinatown on Automatism a Canadian blog by Lori a collage illustrator. Yay!! I love finding Canadian blogs it gives me small glimpses of home.

I completely fell in love with the way Sibella's home had things haphazardly placed and the green is very inspiring I am not a  great lover of wallpaper but I have become inspired to want to wallpaper something in my home. The tin ceilings and walls are to die for and I love the green shutters!

Well it's laundry day and I am behind schedule have to catch up with the days work!

Backyard Bliss

During these scorching/hellish temperature's (literally!!!) in New York and Toronto according to my mother which I just spoke with a few minutes ago. I find myself longing for the days were you could lounge or dine in your backyard peacefully reading a book or enjoying a good time with friends.
Here is my "Ode to the Backyard." The image of the hammock is via Desire to Decorate and unfortunately I found the other two photos so long ago that I can't recall where I got them from :( Have a great weekend!!

Flea Market Finds!

Yesterday my daughter and I went to Junk in Williamsburg and I found a beautiful blue and white plate and a hobnail milk glass candy dish, which now holds Michaela's extensive ring and bracelet collection. It was a very hot day in the city yesterday but we missioned over the Williamsburg bridge to visit friends in the city.
I am also adding some of my past finds that I have not posted yet. Carmen the green lady who matches perfectly with my boyfriends chair I got for a mere $8 which is just fabulous!!! I also have an ash tray with my initial "S" to hold my keys I can't remember exactly where or when I found it but it's always great to have something with your initials.
I was at the Elephant Trunk flea market with my best friend Kat and Michaela last weekend and we scored some great things. I finally got my long awaited brandy decanter for $5 which my friend so kindly bought for me and a super 8 camera for drum roll please..... $10 how amazing is that I was beside myself tenfold when he told me the price. I have always wanted one very excited to use it!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous and safe weekend!

At Last.......

Phew!!! it has been a busy few months in April I went to Germany to visit my boyfriend. In May my boyfriend came here and we all went to my friends wedding in Big Sur. June was both Michaela and Jakobs birthday so Jakob came back and we spent a few days in Montauk in between all of this I was able to find a few bits and bobs and manage to redo two chairs!

The mirror and chandelier I found on the street and the two chairs were a steal for $20 for both of them. Please excuse my PJ's was very excited to take the picture. The milk glass jar was fifty cents and the two decorative plates were one dollar each!

I am continuing with the black and white theme in my room hence the chairs being painted black and white. I wanted to put a toile to cover the seats but I could not find black and white it always looked a bit dirty..... grrrrr so I used a T shirt that I got in a goody bag from someones party and voila my chairs are complete!
